I am currently a Ph.D. student in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania, working in the DetreLab. My current research focuses on leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies, particularly generative AI, to address complex challenges in neuroimaging and push the boundaries of medical imaging innovation.
I completed my Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Medical Imaging and Applications (MAIA), coordinated by the University of Girona, Spain, along with the Université de Bourgogne, France, and the University of Cassino, Italy as partner universities.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Girona, Spain, in 2022. During my academic journey, I collaborated with the Department of Computer Vision and Robotics (VICOROB) on projects utilizing AI to address challenges such as skin cancer detection and brain tumor segmentation. I also completed a summer internship with Icometrix, where I developed deep learning-based postprocessing techniques for CT perfusion map artifacts.
I am deeply interested in the field of medical imaging, with a specific focus on neuroscience, particularly in the study of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. My broad interests span across various domains such as neuroscience, neuroimaging, medical image analysis, and the application of artificial intelligence in these areas. My current research topics are about:
Medical Image Registration
- intensity based brain image registration.
Medical Image Segmentation
- brain tissue segmentation.
- brain tumor segmentation (BraTS 2018).
- skin lesions segmentation.
Medical Image Analysis
- breast cancer detection and classification.
- skin lesions detection and classification.
Artificial Intelligence
- conventional Machine Learning approaches for classification.
- deep Learning-based approaches for classification and segmentation.
- transfer learning.
Generative AI
- synthetic image generation.
